Definition & Audience

A 'teen movie' is normally a film which has young actors, based on teenage themes e.g: high school, features comedy, romance and conflict. The target audience is most popular within young people from the age of 13 to early 20s and sometimes older people may watch them for nostalgic reactions. Teen movies are popular as teenagers can relate to the situations in the film, it could also be an escape for some people.
